NestLink ("we", "us", "our") operates the NestLink mobile application and website. Our mission is to provide a private, secure space for families to connect and preserve memories — without compromising your privacy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Name, email address, and password (for email sign-up)
• Profile photo (optional)
• Content you post: text, photos, reactions, and comments within your family group
• Messages you send within the app

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• First-party analytics events (screen views, feature usage) — sent to our own servers only
• Error logs to help us fix bugs

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the NestLink service;
• To authenticate your identity and manage your account;
• To deliver messages and content within your family group;
• To send important service notifications (not marketing);
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security threats.

4. Your Photos & Files

NestLink connects to cloud storage you own (Google Drive, Amazon S3). Your media files are stored in your own account — not on NestLink servers. We only store metadata (file names, URLs) needed to display content in the app. You can revoke NestLink's access to your storage at any time from your account settings.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:

• Within your family group: Content you post is visible to family members you have invited.
• Service providers: We use trusted providers (cloud hosting, error monitoring) under strict data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and JWT-based authentication. Messages between family members are transmitted over encrypted channels. However, no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Children's Privacy

NestLink is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate data;
• Request deletion of your data;
• Object to or restrict certain processing;
• Data portability.
